Reporting in the workplace – IMPACT
Regular reporting fosters transparency by providing clear data on business activities, performance metrics, and employee progress. It ensures that everyone, from entry-level employees to senior management, is aware of the organisation’s goals and their progress toward achieving them. This encourages accountability, as individuals and teams are held responsible for their performance based on measurable outcomes
Frequent and systematic reporting nurtures a culture that values data and factual analysis. This reduces reliance on intuition or personal biases in decision-making and encourages evidence-based practices
Reporting systems, such as performance reviews or 360-degree feedback, encourage employee engagement by providing feedback loops. Employees know how their work is evaluated, and they can provide feedback in return. This can boost morale, job satisfaction, and retention.
Next steps based on suggestions from the team:
- To ensure when the person in charge is not available for the second person to complete the report.
- Head office to ask OFSTED questions - when calling each setting and on Famly.
- TAS curriculum (above and beyond) to be carried out weekly and resent
- Weekly reports to be printed and filled away.
- Red's must change to green
- Use bank staff with no intention of training just to put out simple activities.
- Keep a log of staff sickness
- we will have open discussion on Mondays about weekly report
- Friday checklist now part of weekly report
- Few ticks will still be required.
Thanks

New starters (Permanent and bank staff)
Being organized in a nursery setting is crucial, especially when new staff members join the team. It ensures a smooth transition, maintains consistency for the children, and fosters a collaborative work environment. Here are key aspects to focus on:
-
Clear Communication: Provide new staff with a detailed orientation that includes the daily schedule, routines, and expectations. Regular team meetings and a communication board help keep everyone on the same page.
-
Well-Defined Roles: Assign specific roles and responsibilities to each staff member, ensuring new employees understand their duties and feel confident in their position.
-
Documentation & Policies: Make sure all-important documents, like health and safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and child development plans, are easily accessible and well-organized.
-
Classroom Organization: Keep the nursery spaces tidy and structured. Label areas for toys, supplies, and learning materials to help new staff quickly find what they need.
-
Mentorship & Support: Assign a mentor or buddy to new staff to guide them through the first few weeks, providing support and answering any questions.
By maintaining clear organization, the nursery operates efficiently, and new staff members integrate seamlessly into the team.
-
Next steps based on suggestions from the team:
- To ensure the New starter pack is printed for bank staff or new staff.
- To explain simple activities from the 10 activities.
- Show videos that will be shared.
- Remember the ETHOS when going to the door.
- Remember to keep in mind parents want to hear about a wow moment for the day.
- Use bank staff with no intention of training just to put out simple activities.
